Community at RNPS

There are many opportunities for parents, friends, community members and alumni of RNPS to get involved at the school. We value the contributions of everyone who has helped create the vibrant and engaging environment at our school.

Parents and Friends Association (PFA)

Our PFA are always keen to work with new members with different ideas. The efforts of our PFA provide valuable services to parents and students such as subsidising parent information nights, student discos and a variety stalls throughout the year to encourage community interaction. The PFA also works closely with School Council to support fundraising efforts that have helped fund significant improvements, such as our all weather oval, shade sails and playgrounds.

If you would like to get involved in helping out around the school and improving opportunities for students, contact the school to find out when the next meeting or event is being held.

Out of School Hours Care (OSHC)

The RNPS School Council operates a wonderful OSHC program at the school for both before and after school care. Enrolment with the service is required before children can attend. Eligible families can use the government’s Child Care Benefit to offset costs.

Download an enrolment form and return it to the school office or drop in and make arrangements.

Holiday Care

During school holidays, TeamKids operate a holiday care program using our OSHC facilities. Parents can contact TeamKids directly to make arrangements.

Policies

Access school policies to understand what considerations have been made in a variety of decision making scenarios. These policies will also provide you with valuable links to other school documents.

All policies are available to parents through the Compass portal, too (see ‘School Resources’).

School Council

The RNPS School Council consists of 15 members, 5 staff and 10 parents. The Council meets 8 evenings each year and deals exclusively with governance of the school, especially in areas of finance and policy. Any school community member is eligible to nominate for a position on the school council, tenure lasts for 2 years. Calls for Nominations are usually advertised in February through Compass and the School Newsletter.

There are a few School Council sub-committees that focus on key areas of the school and provide recommendations to council, too. Membership of these committees is open to any school community member.

School Fete and Fundraising

RNPS holds a school fete every 2 years (even numbered years), which is the major fundraising event for the school. Parent help in planning, organising, setting up and packing up is crucial to the event success. To indicate your interest in being part of the Fete Committee, please enter your details below.

Other fundraising events occur throughout the year, managed by School Council and supported by PFA and other parents. Any community members interested in supporting our fundraising or making donations to the school can contact administration by phone or email.

Upcoming celebrations

Every 2 years (odd numbered years), RNPS presents our bi-annual musical theatre production. These are always a great celebration of humour, music, and drama.

In 2023, RNPS will celebrate its centenary. As part of the milestone, the school will be preparing a history of the school and forming a committee to plan the event and festivities.

Are you a former student, parent or staff member of the school? Would you like to be involved in preparing the celebrations or contributing photos/stories? Contact us if you would like to be included in future communications to celebrate 100 years of an awesome school.
